Michel Chapoutier tegen Wine Spectator:
"We ended the harvest on Friday, Sept. 29th. I am extremely impressed by the quality. The Northern Rhône Valley is about to produce an exceptional vintage. In the north it is comparable with 1990, even superior! I have not tasted so good a Côte-Rôtie since 1991.
"Some areas have had bad weather. But during the whole harvest, we have had perfect weather. Rains began afterward, on Friday. Everybody had the chance to harvest in good conditions, with a phenolic maturity (tannins) rarely encountered in the past.
"We can already say that the 2006 Rhône Valley wines will be the best wines of France. Red wines have both power and delicacy."
