Goede geluiden en proefnotities over de Beringer Sbragia Chardonnay in het Robert Parker blog:
I bought a half case of this about two years ago for half price when everyone went nuts over the 2002 and the price of the 2001 collapsed. I opened the first bottle two years ago, and it was good but not great. The oak had not resolved itself well and the wine was a bit unbalanced so the flavors did not come through well. I decided to wait on the rest of the case. I opened one bottle on June 16 and another on June 30. The extra time in the bottle made a significant positive difference. The roasted nuts a la Bourgonne had come to the fore and were mixed with a healthy but not overpowering dose of buttery smoothness. There was a lot of citrus in the background as well with some bracing acidity to avoid a flabby presentation. I’m glad I have 3 more, especially since it cost me about $23 and Wine searcher shows it in the high $40s and low $50s.
PS – And there was no premature oxidation
In Nederland wordt zelfs de 2000 nog verkocht zag ik laatst.
